Released in 2002, “Songs For The Deaf” is the third studio album from the American rock band. Featuring Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters on drums alongside other notable guests, it was the last Queens of the Stone Age album to feature basist Nick Oliveri. The release is a loose concept album, designed to take the listened on a drive through the California desert from LA to Joshua Tree, tuning into radio stations from towns along the way such as Banning and Chino Hills. Receiving critical acclaim, the album earned the band their first gold certification in the US, with over 1 million copies sold in Europe.
