Theatre of Pain is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe.
Released in 1985, Theatre of Pain marks a shift in the band’s sound. Taking steps away from the traditional heavy metal sound of their previous works, this album moves and adapts to a more glam metal sound. Glam metal is defined as a sub-genre of heavy metal that features pop-influences hooks and guitar riffs.
The album is home to some of the band’s biggest singles such as Smokin’ in the Boys Room and the power ballad Home Sweet Home. Whilst recording during a tough time for the band, this album goes to show that music can support and bring people together no matter the circumstance.
Certified quadruple platinum in 1995, this album is one of the most influential and widely loved by fans. If you are a Motley Crue fan, you already know you need this bad boy in your collection!
