‘Insomniac’ is the fourth studio album by Green Day (their second major label release), first released October 10, 1995 by Reprise Records.
The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified 2× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1996.
An album with great replay value, Insomniac was able to truely capture the punk-rock sound of it’s time, in a unique way. The songs are fast paced, pessimistic and packed with anarchy and vigor, they feel harsh yet carefully constructed. The punk rock sound of this album helped claim Green Day’s place in the scene, where they will be forever remembered.
